How slab formwork is configured
In a beam-and-prop arrangement, the sheeting rests on rows of beams, which transfer loads through suitable heads to the props. The set must include every element, including supports and accessories. The image shows a PERI MULTIFLEX example; the actual configuration is agreed for your project.
| Part of the set | What to include in your enquiry |
|---|---|
| VT 20 beams | Lengths and quantities from the specification, or drawings for selection |
| Props | Working height, slab parameters and the specified model, if available |
| Heads and tripods | Whether needed separately or together with props |
| Formwork sheeting | Whether it should be included; specifications are agreed separately |
Slab area alone is not enough
Two slabs with the same area may need different quantities of equipment. Selection depends on slab thickness, support height, downstand beams, level changes, openings and work stages. Prop and beam layouts must follow the design.
A universal number of props per square metre is not a ready-made design for every building. Working heights, loads and spacing must be checked for the specific structure.
What to send for a quotation
- Slab plans and sections, especially areas with level changes and beams.
- Slab thickness and height from the support base to the slab.
- The size of the section to be cast at one time.
- The floor-by-floor schedule and required rental period.
- The project city and details of existing formwork if you need an additional set.
Can I rent only the missing elements?
Yes. You can request beams, props or accessories separately. List the exact items and quantities. Availability, pricing and rental terms are confirmed in the quotation.
What to check before agreeing the rental
Compare the specification with your project needs: beams, props, heads, tripods and sheeting should be listed explicitly. Confirm the period, collection, extension and return arrangements. This helps you compare equivalent quotations.
